Kite présentera une performance de son installation ( 𝘹 ) 𝘹 + { 𝘹 } + qui sera lue comme une partition, simulant une vision déformée d'un paysage cosmologique Oglala Lakota. Déployés à l’extérieur du cube, les objets et les sculptures interféreront avec la composition sonore de la performance en interagissant avec une interface corporelle (body interface) utilisée par l’artiste. Entrée libre Lieu : Cube SIGHTINGS 1455 boul. De Maisonneuve Ouest, Pavillon Hall Rez-de-chaussée - The installation ( 𝘹 ) 𝘹 + { 𝘹 } + will be performed by Kite as a score, simulating a distorted vision of an Oglala Lakota cosmologyscape. As they unfold out from the Cube, the objects and sculptures on display will interfere with and manipulate the performance’s adjoining sound composition, in tandem with the artist’s body-interface. Join Cinema Politica Concordia for a special screening of HAK MTL to close our Fall season, with guests in attendance for a discussion after the film. The captivating film follows techies and hackers in Montreal as they work against the monetization of data and the loss of autonomy in the digital age. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Dr. Gabriella Coleman, anthropologist, academic and author whose work focuses on hacker culture and online activism, and David Goulet, film protagonist and member of The Tor Project. 𝑂𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑊𝑎𝑠, 𝑂𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑊𝑎𝑠𝑛’𝑡 is a three-part workshop series in Arabic animated by Emma Haraké. The series explores the relationships between telling, listening and belongings. As part of the Leonard & Bina Ellen Art Gallery’s outreach project Mumtalakat, the series aims to create more spaces around the city for Arabic-speaking Montrealers to share and listen collectively. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐨-𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐁𝐞́𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫. Signifiant “Notre voix” en Inuktitut, Nipivut est une émission de radio communautaire inuite ayant le mandat de relier le Nord et le Sud par le médium de la voix. Curieux de savoir quels sons auraient pu accompagner Ashoona dans la production de ses œuvres et quels sons pourraient se retrouver dans leurs univers, Nipivut a réalisé une émission unique basée sur Cartographier des univers qui sera diffusée le soir de l’événement. Écoutant ensemble dans la Galerie, les participant.e.s seront guidé.e.s dans les mondes d’Ashoona, que ceux-ci soient physiques, sociaux, imaginaires ou discursifs. La séance sera suivie d’un échange entre le réalisateur de l’émission, Naluturuk Weetaluktuk, et les collaboratrices.teurs invité.e.s. THE MOSQUE (La Mosquée: une communauté menacée) tells the poignant and resilient story of the Muslim community of Ste Foy, Quebec, in the aftermath of the Quebec Mosque Shooting, and will be followed by a Q&A with director Ariel Nasr, Samaa Elibyari from the Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) and Sarah Abou-Bakr from the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM). This screening is part of SemaineMusulmane_MuslimWeek and is co-presented with the Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) and the Collectif Canadien Anti-Islamophobie.
